THE SENETOSA LIGHTHOUSE REFUGE

Welcomes you for one or two nights in rooms, dormitories or bivouac.

Welcome

TO A PROTECTED NATURAL SITE ON THE SARTÈNE COAST

Set out on the footpaths from Campomoro to Senetosa and enter a fabulous conservatory of natural Mediterranean landscapes and habitats.
Follow in the footsteps of the men who have travelled and worked these lands since the Bronze Age. Enjoy the freedom of a full day’s walk between the sea, the maquis and the fantastically shaped rocks. More than 2300 hectares spread over 20 km of coastline are permanently protected by the Conservatoire du Littoral and are actively managed by Syndicat Elisa.

A site to preserve

A world of granite, green coastal meadows, with an endless expanse of maquis dominated by Phoenician juniper. Footpaths to enjoy the peace and gentle atmosphere of the area, the metallic song of the blue rock thrush, a flight of buntings and larks that swoop down on the myrtles, the heady scent of the immortelles and a parading lizard. A place where you can walk from one Genoese tower to another without coming across roads or buildings.

These spaces are alive and fragile. Please respect the regulations, avoid damaging the landscapes or wildlife, and do not disturb the tranquillity of the site. Do not leave any trace of your visit.

Ces espaces sont vivants et fragiles, merci de respecter la réglementation et de ne pas porter atteinte aux paysages, à la flore et à la faune et de pas troubler la tranquillité des lieux. Ne laissez aucune trace de votre passage.

SENETOSA REFUGE

Now a refuge, the Senetosa lighthouse is accessible by the coastal footpaths from the different villages in the surrounding area. It welcomes hikers, horse trekkers or kayakers for one or two nights.

Inside, you will discover the permanent exhibition of the Barbary pirates, which will plunge you into a time of insecurity, raids and privateering in the Mediterranean and the construction of the coastal towers.
